What I like most about my job:
Working together to solve a problem and learning from the people I meet.

Since 1995 I have been supporting adults, families, teens, and children in private practice and schools. I believe in the power of searching for strengths and resiliency to build hope. My counselling style incorporates a variety of approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Solution Focused. I also believe in the power of humour. People describe me as gentle, empathetic, yet respectfully direct and proactive. What I know to be true is that life presents challenges and through these times we have a choice to grow and learn, for ourselves and for others.

When I work with kids, I prefer to work hand in hand with parents as I believe therapy is a team effort; however, I may ask to see parents separately to discuss the best possible parental approaches. I do not get involved in court or custody matters and will avoid taking on families that will use therapy as a means of gathering evidence for court. I require that both parents know about and consent to therapy.
