Favourite Book:
“The Places That Scare You: A Guide to Fearlessness in Difficult Times” by Pema Chodron
Favourite Quote:
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity … Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.” – Brené Brown
As a clinical counsellor, I strive to combine a gentle, person-centered style with actively teaching you evidence-based strategies in every session. My hope is that I can provide you with a safe, casual time and space to process your thoughts and feelings while also connecting you with research-supported ideas and techniques from psychology that will be practically helpful in managing your symptoms or improving your life between sessions. My clients usually tell me I’m generally easy-going, nonjudgmental, and humorous*, but I can switch and quickly become serious, intellectual, and educational when needed.
Outside of counselling, I love dogs, being in nature, trying new foods, playing video games, watching drag performances, listening to true crime podcasts, and reading.
*Note: Open to playful humour in the counselling space, but not necessarily a funny comedian myself!
