MSW. Registered Social Worker #3664. (he/him)
Jordan is an experienced and compassionate social worker with over 19 years of professional practice. He is committed to helping people live meaningful lives that reflect what they value most. Jordan takes a collaborative approach to therapy, drawing from a range of theoretical frameworks, with a particular emphasis on narrative practices and mindfulness. He brings a non-judgmental, anti-oppressive perspective to his work and remains curious about the social and cultural influences that shape peoples experiences.
Jordan works with individuals (17+) and couples. In recent years, his practice has become increasingly focused on supporting men who want to create more fulfilling lives, and build healthier relationships with their partners, children, and other men. This can often involve exploring the beliefs, expectations, and assumptions that may be keeping them from becoming the person they want to be. As an extension of this work, Jordan co-facilitates a land-based group to support participants in moving away from abuse and toward repairing harm.
Another important area of Jordan’s practice is working alongside First Nations individuals, families and communities. Jordan is an approved NIHB provider for mental health counselling, and brings a strong educational background to this work holding a Master’s degree in Social Work, as well as a 4-year Bachelor degree in Indigenous Studies. Beyond his Saskatoon practice, Jordan is committed to providing accessible mental health services in remote northern communities in partnership with Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation and the Prince Albert Grand Council.
In addition to his clinical practice, Jordan has contributed to the development of innovative harm reduction housing programs, the implementation of police and crisis mental health teams, and the onboarding of the 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline in his role as the clinical director of a community based organization.
Outside of work, Jordan enjoys running, cycling, and fishing with his two boys. He values spending time with family and friends and is deeply connected to landscapes and people all over Saskatchewan.
