Lisa Poon

B.Sc., M.Sc., MA, Clinical Psychology PhD Student. (she/her)

Lisa holds BSc, MSc, and MA degrees and is currently in her third year of the PhD program in Clinical Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan.

Before working as a Clinical Psychologist Trainee, Lisa was a neuroscience lecturer at the university – but after seeing a lack of BIPOC representation in the mental health field, she decided to change careers to help fill that gap. Coming from a multi-cultural background, she is passionate about providing culturally-informed care.

She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Schema Therapy. Lisa usually works with adults who are navigating depression, trauma, and stressful life situations. She works hard to adjust her approach to meet the unique needs of her clients, who have described her as funny, warm, patient, understanding, and empathetic. She endeavours to always provide a safe, supportive, and respectful environment. Lisa aspires to help people move through & see life differently and in the way they desire.

Her favourite things are dogs, dinosaurs, dining, and Disney.

Current hourly rate: $60. Practicum student May to August, 2026.
